July 23, 2007 - The honors continue to roll in for the 2006 Hillsdale College volleyball team even as the start of the 2007 season looms one month and one day away.
The Chargers were one of 30 Division II volleyball programs to receive the GamePlan/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 school year. In order to be eligible for the award, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Hillsdale finished with a 29-2 overall record, won the GLIAC South Division and hosted both the GLIAC Tournament and NCAA Great Lakes Regional Tournament. Coach Chris Gravel was named GLIAC Coach of the Year, and Taryn Rudland was named GLIAC Player of the Year, Regional Player of the Year, and was a Division II First-Team All-American selection.
