September 4, 2007 - Player of the Week honors got spread to both the Hillsdale College football and volleyball teams Tuesday afternoon.
Senior outside hitter Melissa Bartlett was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week for the second time in her career Tuesday. She helped lead the Charger volleyball team to a 4-1 record last week, averagine a whopping five kills per game to go along with an overall hitting percentage of .406.
She registered a Hillsdale career-high of 29 kills in the team's 3-2 loss to No. 6 Truman at the Towne Place Suites Classic in Findlay, Ohio Friday afternoon. She also had 45 digs in the five matches last week and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Bartlett leads the No. 7-ranked Chargers in total kills with 139 and is second on the team in digs with 93. The team is off to a 7-2 start to the season.
Hillsdale heads to Ashland University this weekend to play in the last of its three weekend tournaments before the start of conference play.
