October 19, 2007 - It didn't take long for the Hillsdale College volleyball team to rediscover its winning ways, dispatching Wayne State University 3-0 Friday night at the Jesse Philips

Arena. The Chargers are now 20-6 overall and 11-2 in the GLIAC with the win. The Warriors fell to 8-13 and 3-10.
Hillsdale won the games by scores of 30-18, 30-12 and 30-24. The Chargers put together one of their most efficient offensive matches of the season, hitting .415 as a team compared to .104 for the Warriors.
Head coach Chris Gravel experimented with several different lineups throughout the match, and just about every player contributed positive plays to the team's win.
Three players hit double figures in kills for Hillsdale, led by 12 by sophomore Emily Bennett. Sophomore Kittrick Smith and senior Melissa Bartlett picked up 10 each, while committing just two errors between them. Bennett and fellow sophomore Hannah Barrett each hit .556 for the match, with Barrett contributing five kills.
Senior Megan Howard (pictured), Hillsdale's all-time leader in digs, added more to her record total with 11 for the Chargers. Bartlett led the team with 12, while junior Stephanie Booms had a match-high 42 assists, an average of 14 per game.
As a team, Hillsdale had 57 kills with just eight errors, and 52 assists. The team hit .486 in the second game.
Hillsdale is off on Saturday, and stays home next weekend against Mercyhurst and Gannon. To view the box score from Friday's match, click on the link below.
