November 26, 2007 - For the second year in a row, a Hillsdale College volleyball player has been named AVCA First-Team All-American.
Senior outside hitter Melissa Bartlett earned the honor, announced Monday afternoon. Bartlett joins Taryn Rudland,

named 2006 First-Team All-American, as the only Charger volleyball players to ever receive such accolades.
Early Thursday morning, Bartlett received another All-American honor, this one coming from Daktronics. She was one of just seven Division II players in the nation to be named Daktronics First-Team All-American.
Bartlett had an outsuanding 2007 campaign, leading the Chargers to their second straight GLIAC South Division championship. Her 635 kills led the GLIAC and were the second-most in school history for one season. She was named GLIAC Player of the Year, and was name First-Team All-Region by the AVCA and Daktronics.
She finished her two-year Hillsdale career with 1,046 kills, No. 5 on the school's career list despite playing just two seasons in Charger blue. She came to Hillsdale in 2006 after playing her first two collegiate seasons at Eastern Michigan University.
The Chatham, Ontario native led Hillsdale to a 55-10 record over the past two seasons, including back-to-back spots in the NCAA Division II regional tournament. She led Hillsdale in kills in both of her seasons, and was second on the team in digs in 2007. She led Hillsdale in service aces with 54.
Bartlett was the only GLIAC player to make it to the AVCA First-Team All-American list.
