Charger women's basketball team wins sixth in a row, 67-53 over West Virginia Tech
December 1, 2007 - The month of December began just like how November ended for the Hillsdale College women's basketball team - with a double-digit victory.

The Chargers won their sixth straight game to start the season Saturday night with a 67-53 win over West Virginia Tech. Hillsdale went 2-0 at all three of its early-season tournaments, and is tuned up with a 6-0 record heading into the start of conference play next week. Hillsdale will make its home debut for the 2007-08 season Thursday night by hosting South Division rival Ashland starting at 6 p.m.

Hillsdale used strong defense and a steady effort in both halves to drive away from West Virginia with another win. The Chargers held WVTU to 33 percent shooting from the field for the game, and held a 44-34 edge on the boards.

Junior forward Katie Cezat matched her scoring output from Friday night, leading all players with 18 points. She also set a new career-high in rebounding for the second game in a row, grabbing 15 boards, 14 on the defensive end. She shot 7-for-13 from the field, and has scored in double figures in all six of Hillsdale's games this season.

Sophomore guard Brooke Knight added 10 points, five rebounds and five assists in another solid performance. Sophomore Janay Miller had seven points, five assists, three rebounds and four steals. Miller turned in a well-rounded overall performance in the two games this weekend, filling in all of the columns on the stat sheet with good numbers.

Freshman Kara McCormick scored 13 points for Hillsdale, while junior Claire Aubrey's five offensive rebounds were key in helping Hillsdale to the edge it had on the boards.
