Katie Cezat wins unprecedented fifth straight GLIAC South Player of the Week honor
February 18, 2008 - A new week, another honor for Hillsdale College junior women's basketball player Katie Cezat.

Monday afternoon, Cezat was named GLIAC South Division Player of the Week for an incredible fifth week in a row. The award was announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Last week, Cezat averaged 29 points and 12 rebounds per game news story imagein helping the Chargers extend their current winning streak to nine games, defeating Ferris State (83-71) and Tiffin (77-54). Cezat scored 22 first-half points Thursday against the Bulldogs, and set the school's single-season shot blocking record. She now has 33 blocks to rank first on the school's all-time list for one season.

Cezat is in the top 10 in seven different statistical categories, and leads the GLIAC in scoring and rebounding. She has helped lead the Chargers to their best 24-game record in school history, at 21-3.

Hillsdale College, the 2007-08 GLIAC South Division champs, will host the University of Findlay at 6 p.m. Thursday.
