Dodson, Krout achieve All-American status at indoor track and field championships
March 16, 2008 - The long list of All-Americans produced by the Hillsdale College track and field program grew once again over the weekend.
Junior Andrew Dodson (high jump) and sophomore Jared Krout (200 and 400 dash) each earned All-American honors at the Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
The All-American honor was the first in Dodson's already-successful career. He finished in sixth place in the high jump at the national meet. The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American status.
Being named All-American is not a new honor for Krout, who is quickly becoming one of the most honored and decorated male sprinters in the program's history. Krout took fourth place overall in the 200 meter dash, and fifth place in the 400 meter dash.
Krout scored nine points in the meet for Hillsdale, the most ever scored by an athlete in the national meet since Hillsdale moved up from the NAIA to Division II more than 10 years ago.
