I was born and raised in Livonia, Michigan. I have been married for 24 years to my wife, Sophie. We have three children: George is 22, Niko is 18 and Connie is 14. She tells me she will be attending Hillsdale College, and she has all kinds of Hillsdale shirts, flags and stickers.

The most important thing that I learned at Hillsdale was how to budget my time. The overall college experience was filled with exciting challenges and learning opportunities. It taught me the valuable skill of
time management that has served me well throughout my professional career.

Enjoy your college experience. Study hard and set goals; they are achievable.

I initially became interested in Hillsdale College due to its excellent reputation, and because I found that many of the beliefs and philosophies of the school's approach to the educational process mirrored my own beliefs. The fact that my father was involved with projects at the College, and that one of my closest friends (Dr. Dan Souphis) was already enrolled sealed the deal for me.

My experiences at Hillsdale taught me a couple of important lessons. First and foremost, the very positive experience of attending Hillsdale helped to instill a positive attitude toward life in general that I have to this day. Interacting with the students and professors at Hillsdale taught me how to deal with people in my everyday environment.

The overall experience was great. Being involved with the start-up of Sigma Chi fraternity was a fond, memorable experience.
