Sport:
Cross-Country/Track and Field
Athletic Honors:
GLIAC All-Academic
Why did you choose to attend Hillsdale College?:
Hillsdale appealed to me for several reasons: it promotes a traditional liberal arts education, calls its students to academic excellence, and fosters a virtuous environment. The campus is beautiful and the faculty are superb.
What is your extra-curricular involvement outside of athletics?:
Pi Beta Phi sorority, Orthodox Christian Fellowship, Eta Sigma Phi (classics honorary)
What do you like best about being an athlete at Hillsdale?:
Hillsdale athletes face exceptional academic standards. Hillsdale is one of the smallest schools in the GLIAC, but our teams are nevertheless talented and competitive. I love the energy and vibe of the cross-country team, where I have formed my most rewarding relationships. The individual coaching that I receive has elevated my performance to a much higher level.
What is the key to succeeding in the classroom as well as on a team?:
Enthusiasm; if you are motivated enough to do well, you can manage academic and athletic success through time management and a vigorous work ethic.
What has been the highlight of your athletic career here?:
I ran my first indoor 5K at a Findlay meet. I broke my previous time by over a minute, and my coach, Sarah Hinckley, took my splits for every single of the 25 laps. That performance ranked me in the GLIAC.
