Setter

I chose to attend Hillsdale College because I enjoyed the small size of the campus and the student body. I liked knowing the you were in small classes where the teachers knew who you were. I enjoyed my teammates and my coaches making me feel welcome.

I like being an athlete because when I first started my freshman year, I came in knowing a bunch of girls and having a place to fit in. I enjoy all the knowledge I gain on the court and apply it to the classroom and other activities. Being an athlete, I alway have someone to turn to on campus when I need help. I have about twelve different girls and some coaches who will always help me succeed.

To succeed on the court as well as in the classroom takes being very organized and time-oriented. During the season, we can practice three-and-a-half hours a day. You really learn to prioritize your classes and your studies. On the road, most girls will study on the drives. I know most of the girls are good about talking to teachers about being gone for games and finding a day to catch up for a test, quiz, or notes.

My athletic career highlight was when we played in the GLIAC vs. GLVC tournament. Being able to play against teams from another conference was so much fun and gave us a perspective of how strong our conference is in volleyball.
