Why did you choose to attend Hillsdale College?:
My hometown of Jackson, Michigan, is an hour away from Hillsdale, and I grew up being very familiar with the exemplary academic and athletic reputation of Hillsdale College. I am persuing a degree in biology with plans for medical school, and have enjoyed playing basketball since I was eight years old. On my first visit, I met Coach Charney, the coaching staff and the players, and it felt like a perfect fit for my future plans.
What is your extra-curricular involvement outside of athletics?:
Athletes in Action, National Chemistry Society, and Catholic Society. At home in the summer, I enjoy water sport activities and attending as many of my brother's sporting events as I can.
What do you like best about being an athlete at Hillsdale?:
Everyone on our team works very hard for the team’s success. Win or lose, we do it together and assume responsibility for each game. Each player cares about their teammates, and we work together to offer support, guidance and friendship.
What is the key to succeeding in the classroom as well as on a team?:
It is very important to have good time management skills and to keep a positive attitude. The professors are very accessible and willing to commit extra time for the student’s success. It is important to be able to “think outside the box” and take that knowledge and apply it at the next level. Hillsdale College graduates students who can think and create independently. We are successful as a team because every day we come prepared to work hard and do our best.
What has been the highlight of your athletic career here?:
Winning the GLIAC my freshman year and playing and learning from an All-American, Katie Cezat.
