Biography:
After graduating from Hillsdale College, I took a position at Camden-Frontier High School as an English teacher and football coach. I was head varsity football coach for five seasons. During that time, I kept working part time at WCSR Radio in Hillsdale, and now am the play-by-play voice of Hillsdale College Football and Basketball. I also host a weekly radio sports talk show called "Time Out with Andy Brown." In the past six years, I have begun teaching English part time at Jackson Community College and now at Hillsdale College. While at Hillsdale, I was active in Student Federation, journalism, forensics, and sports broadcasting. Greg Corombos, '97, and I were the first-ever broadcast team for Charger Football on television!
What was the most important thing you learned while attending Hillsdale College?:
Humility: Dr. Somerville's class is great for that.
What advice would you give to prospective students?:
Hillsdale is hard, but I've never talked to anyone who regretted their decision to go here. There are wonderful people to help you through it all, and the preparation you will receive is simply the best.
Why did you choose to attend Hillsdale College?:
I attended Hillsdale because it's a great school with great people that leads to a valuable degree.
How did Hillsdale prepare you for life after graduation?:
The degree helped me to get a great job, and the preparation helped me to succeed at it. Moreover, Hillsdale College helped instill in me a level of discernment that has served me well in everything I do.
What was the highlight of your Hillsdale experience?:
I will never forget my times with the men of Koon Dormitory. We had so much fun and I made so many great friends. The opportunities I had to work with excellent professors and to start broadcasting football and basketball games for Ted Matko have helped me to make a living doing things I love.
