Favorite Book(s): There are far too many to list, but The Aeneid by Virgil, The History of the Peloponnesian War by Thucydides, Killer Angels by Michael Shaara, The Chosen by Chaim Potok, and The Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis are among a few.

Favorite Hillsdale Memory: I loved so many things about my time at Hillsdale, from the late-night conversations with friends, to our many outdoor adventures, to breakfast at the Coffee Cup Diner. As far as classes go, Soft Despotism with Dr. Rahe, Constitutional Law with Justice Markman, and Aristotle’s Ethics Dr. Arnn were my favorites.

Words of Wisdom: Be intentional about building relationships with others while learning as much as possible from them. There is no such thing as a “self-made” man, so make it a point to seek wisdom and counsel from those people whose judgement can be trusted. Learn the lessons, habits, instincts, and strengths of these people and make them your own. This may require stepping out of your comfort zone, but if you learn to ask good questions, seek full answers, think well, and stay humble, there is much awaiting you.
