John Auseon, ’63—An outstanding golfer, Auseon holds the honor of being the only Hillsdale College golfer to earn All- American honors in that sport. He represented Hillsdale three times at the NAIA National Golf Tournament.
Parke Hayes, ’67—The “voice of the Charger basketball team” on Hillsdale’s WCSR-AM/FM radio station from 1977-2003, Hayes has also been the announcer for home Charger football games since 1982.
Mark Flood, ’78—A distinguished athlete in football and track and field, Flood won over 30 first-place finishes in track and field, set numerous school records and competed in three consecutive NAIA National Championships.
Stephen Ferguson, ’88 (posthumous)—He played on the 1985 Charger National Championship football team and earned honors as an Academic All-American and All-GLIAC linebacker for three years. He worked at the College as director of corporate institutional advancement and later as director of alumni relations.
Renee Schaffner, ’90—She was Hillsdale’s first softball All-American, led her team to its first appearance in the NCAA Division II Regional Championships in 1989 and its first national ranking and pitched the first perfect game ever for the Chargers.
