In 2001, Charger Football alumni Lennie Stover, '79, and Rick Barker, '79, started the Gridiron Club. Its primary function then—as it is now—was to support Coach Keith Otterbein, his staff, and the Charger football team on a financial and spiritual level.
Eleven years later, we want to take the Gridiron Club to a new level of support for our football program by offering various levels of yearly memberships. We currently have approximately 1,000 Charger Football alums. Our goal is to have 100% membership participation from Charger Football alumni in order to provide the monetary and spiritual support needed to maintain the success that Otter and his staff have brought back to our storied program.
The Gridiron Club works to achieve its Mission Statement:
To support the Hillsdale College Charger Football program through active participation, membership growth, and fundraising that will enable Charger Football to continue to operate in the first-class manner we all have been privileged to be a part of, as we continue our quest for Division II Football supremacy.
I ask that you read the membership levels and join the Gridiron Club today. And stop by our Gridiron Tent this fall—it will be open for the first home game with GVSU on Saturday, September 10, and again for Homecoming on Saturday, October 8, when the Chargers face off against Ohio Dominican University.
God's Blessings and Go Chargers!
