Hillsdale Camerata

Hillsdale College

Mission

The Hillsdale Camerata exists for the purpose of encouraging pan-disciplinary interest and participation in music, in accordance with the tradition of liberal arts at Hillsdale College. Members of the Hillsdale Camerata strive to challenge and inspire one another and to discover and delight in classical music.

About

The Hillsdale Camerata, a student-run chamber orchestra made up of about 20 string and wind players, hosts both lectures and performances once a semester. Performances are held in the Mauck Solarium and typically feature baroque and classical repertoire, coffee and doughnuts, and a serene atmosphere. The orchestra’s small size and lack of conductor fosters heightened communication and collaboration between the musicians as well as a tight community with a common love of music.
