Circulation Policies

Books
The loan period for books is 21 days. A book may be renewed during the last week of the loan period unless another patron has placed a hold on the book. Books may continue to be renewed until the end of the semester when all items must be returned. Fines are $.20 per day for overdue books. However, the library does not collect fines under $1.00 per item.

Audio Visual Materials
A-V materials, which include videotapes, LP records, audiotapes, and compact discs circulate for 7 days. Items may be renewed after 5 days unless a hold has been placed on the item. The fine for overdue A-V material is $.50 per day per item. Fines less than $1.00 per item are not collected.

Reserve Materials
Reserve items are checked out on an hourly basis. Since the time period varies for each reserve item, please check the slip printed with each check-out to find the exact time a reserve item is due. The blue slip on each item gives the length of the borrowing period and indicates if the item is allowed to leave the library. Failure to return a reserve item to the circulation desk by the designated hour will result in a fine of $1.00 per HOUR per ITEM.

Recalled Material
Any item that has been recalled by the library staff will be given a new due date than is earlier than the original due date. Failure to return the item by the new due date will result in a fine of $1.00 per day in addition to the regular overdue fine.

Interlibrary Loan Books
Interlibrary loan books are fined at the same rate as Mossey Library books. Please contact the Interlibrary loan department before the due date if you need to renew Interlibrary loan books.

Registration/Transcripts
All library materials must be returned and all fines paid before you will be allowed to register for the next semester. Transcripts also will not be sent until your library record is clear.
