Search Google Scholar

What is Google Scholar?
Google Scholar is a subset of Google Web Search that enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including papers, theses, books, and reports.

Why should I access Google Scholar from the library’s website?
By searching Google Scholar from the Library's home page, Hillsdale College students, faculty, and staff will have access to full text journal articles (and other sources) that are already owned by the library. If the article is one the library has purchased, you will see a link that says “Full-Text @ My Library” which will take you to the article.

What should I do if the full text is not available?
Mossey Library also provides access to materials not owned by the library through MeLCat or Interlibrary Loan.

What is the difference between “Library Search” and “Web Search”?
Clicking on the “Library Search” will start a search of OCLC WorldCat and try to locate the book in a local library. A “Web Search” will start a search using the standard Google search engine.

Where else can I search for online full text documents?
Use the Full-Text Finder or browse our list of Databases, both of which have subject category searches.

Where can I get more help?
There are other ways for you to get help. Feel free to schedule an appointment with a librarian or look at the Research Guides that have been prepared for specific areas.
