Teaching Lincoln and the Civil War
April 10, 2015
Houston Marriott North, Houston, Texas
Participants will explore some of the most important issues that arise in teaching the Civil War: the views of America’s founders on equality and slavery, and the subsequent breakdown of consensus regarding principles; the failure to reach a compromise in advance of the secession crisis; and Lincoln’s constitutional understanding in the face of secession and throughout the war.
This seminar is free of charge. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
