Education for School Leaders and Teachers

Many new school leaders who recognize the value and need of classical education for our nation’s youth did not themselves have such an education in their school days.  Our charter school initiative team held its first charter school seminar in June 2011 to help founders from our three selected school groups and other prospective school founders gain greater understanding of the study of the liberal arts in a K-12 setting.  Also attending were veteran school leaders from classical charter schools in operation today as well as leaders from charter and classical school associations.

Our next seminar for classical charter school leaders is scheduled for June 24-27, 2012 at Hillsdale College.

A seminar for teachers is in development.  This seminar will be classroom-oriented, examining topics including philosophy and principles, sources, methods, curriculum, and evaluation.  This seminar will be launched with our three selected schools in the summer of 2012, and subsequently made more widely available.
