HILLSDALE COLLEGE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP SEMINAR

“Looking Ahead:  U.S. National Security”

Sheraton Seattle Hotel
Seattle, Washington
May 22-23, 2013

According to the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, the national government has six purposes, two of which bear directly on national security: to “provide for the common defense” and to “secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.” The national security threats America faces today are different in kind from those faced at the time of the Founding due to revolutions in communications, travel, weapons, and other forms of technology. But the principles by which to think about and respond to these threats remain constant.

This Hillsdale College National Leadership Seminar will consider America’s evolving national security requirements in light of unchanging principles.
