Bring the world of nature and discovery to your preschooler through

stories, garden-related play, and other fun activities.

Nature Art (Ages 5-12)

DATES: JUNE 22 & 29, JULY 13 & 20, AUGUST 3 & 10

SESSION I: 9:30 A.M.- 10:30 A.M.

SESSION II: 11:00 A.M. -12:00 P.M.

Art Educator Lorie Dickinson will teach a variety of artistic styles and

how to use different media to create art. Each week, students will be

guided on a nature walk and will use their observations to do an art

project using different art forms. Supplies and snacks provided.

Nature Adventures (Ages 7-12)

TIME: 10:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

LOCATION: STONE LAB

Participants will use Slayton Arboretum as an outdoor laboratory

to explore and discover hands-on about anything to do with nature.

A craft activity and a snack will be included in each session. Dress

for outdoor exploration.

Nature Day Camp (Ages 8-12)

DATES: JULY 27, 28, & 29

TIME: 9:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

LOCATION: ARB STONE LAB

FEE: $25 PER FAMILY

Children will spend time learning, studying, and playing in nature!

Learn that the outdoors can be fun, too! We will play games, do crafts,

and learn about plants and animals. All supplies and snacks are provided.

Build Your Own Camera Obscura (Ages 12-14)

DATE: THURSDAY, AUGUST 11

TIME: 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

LOCATION: ARB STONE LAB

FEE: $5

Learn how cameras work by building your own camera obscura and

capturing vintage pinhole photographs using a cardboard box and

your own digital camera. Experiment with color and black and white

photography, composition, exposure, and nature-inspired subject matter.
