FILMS OF 1939

March 7-11, 2010


Many argue that by sheer number of great films alone, 1939 was the most extraordinary year in American film history.  “Gone With the Wind” took the Oscar for best picture, beating “The Wizard of Oz” and many other films considered classics today.

This fourth CCA of the 2009-2010 academic year will focus on four other films of 1939 and their directors.
