The American Chemical Society is a student-run organization dedicated to providing a social and intellectual outlet for all students interested in the chemical sciences.  The objects of this chapter are to afford an opportunity for students to become better acquainted, to help school children become better acquainted with science through chemical demonstrations and to foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist.
