Astronomy Club

The goal of the Astronomy Club is to foster an appreciation of astronomy as a natural science within the College's liberal arts community. The club is open to all students who are eager to investigate the wonder and beauty of the universe and meets regularly for campus-wide star-gazing parties using the College's large binoculars and telescopes. The group has traveled to Chicago’s Adler Planetarium and Michigan State University's Abrams Planetarium, as well as enjoyed the Saturday morning Physics lectures at the University of Michigan. Each semester, the club plans outreach projects with local schools, scout troops, and camps and uses a Star Lab inflatable planetarium to bring the night sky indoors.
