This national honor society in psychology was founded on September 4, 1929, for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, maintaining scholarship in, and advancing the science of psychology.  Membership is open to all students who are either majoring or minoring in psychology. Requirements include at least nine completed semester hours in psychology with a 3.000 grade-point average and an overall grade-point average of 3.000.
