This national Spanish honorary recognizes those who seek to attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language and the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking people.  Requirements: three years of college Spanish or the equivalent, including at least a B- in a class in literature or civilization and culture and a minimum grade-point average of 2.750 overall and 3.000 in all Spanish courses taken. The candidate must also rank in the top 35 percent of his or her class.
