John Lauria, '95, President

John earned his B.A. in marketing and Spanish at Hillsdale where he was a member of the football team and studied abroad in Seville, Spain, in 1995.  He has been employed at Stryker Corporation since 1996, holding positions in sales and marketing leadership.  Currently, he is Director of Business Development and Strategy, responsible for mergers, acquisitons, and strategic planning.  He lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with his wife, Mindy, and daughter, Holly.

Message from the President

"My experience at Hillsdale as a student was exceptional, although I truly didn't appreciate the significance of the College until after graduation.  Hilllsdale not only gave me an outstanding liberal arts education, but most importantly, it also taught me life-long skills that I have applied ever since graduation—how to learn, how to prioritize, how to communicate effectively, how to work with a diverse group of people, and how to THINK through obstacles and maximize opportunities.  I am proud and grateful to have the opportunity to serve the College through my work on the Alumni Board.  The impact of the Board is tangible, and the work we do is in line with the College's mission.  I encourage all alumni to support our College and to consider doing so through the Alumni Board."
