Bill BrodbeckI met my wife when we were students together here at Hillsdale College in the mid-1960s.  All three of our daughters attended here.  Two of them met their husbands among the student body while they were here.

The Brodbeck family is for two generations part of a chain that extends back to 1844.  The remarkable thing about that chain is the way in which it is unbroken.  Hillsdale College is not just an institution with the same name that it had more than a century and a half ago; it is an institution that follows the same principles that it has always followed.  It has the same mission.  It stands for the same thing.

We who serve on the board begin each of our meetings with a reading from the Articles of Association of the College.  We think we are obliged to serve the principles named in that document, which is much older than any of us.

We ask you to help us provide the means to hand this institution down to those who will succeed us.  Because the College is unique in its service to those truths that it originally recognized, this is an urgent task.  We hope to leave it stronger than it has ever been.  We are laying the ground for this College’s remarkable service to continue so that our grandchildren and their children and those after them will live in a country where educating for liberty is still possible.

I hope you will join us in the Founders Campaign.
