New Women’s Residence
Better known as “New Dorm,” it’s the newest women’s residence on campus, housing women from all four classes, complete with a coffee shop.
Built in 2018, New Dorm is indeed new, and not yet officially named. The building sits on Union Street, next to Benzing Women’s Residence. New Dorm is trendy (think copper pots in the kitchen) and features large windows for an open and airy aesthetic. In its common area is Penny’s Coffee Shop, fondly named after Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn’s wife, Penny. Having Penny’s in New Dorm makes the building welcoming and connected to the rest of campus. All rooms are doubles with community bathrooms.
