Kirn Residence
Formerly known as “New Dorm,” the Ken and Dean Kirn Residence, named in honor of Hillsdale supporter Ken Kirn and his late wife, Stella “Dean” Kirn, houses women from all four classes, complete with a coffee shop.
Built in 2018, Kirn Residence sits on Union Street, next to Benzing Women’s Residence. Kirn is trendy (think copper pots in the kitchen) and features large windows for an open and airy aesthetic. In its common area is Penny’s Coffee Shop, fondly named after Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn’s wife, Penny. Having Penny’s in Kirn makes the building welcoming and connected to the rest of campus. All rooms are doubles with community bathrooms.
