Assistant Professor of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Hillsdale College invites applications from candidates holding a Ph.D. or ABD status for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Cognitive, Biological and/or Developmental Psychology starting August 2018.
Hillsdale’s Psychology Department strives to educate students according to the belief that psychology is obliged to deal humanely with its subject matter and with respect for those disciplines that have spoken to its problems throughout history. Class offerings include modern scientific research and practice and integrative courses concerning the discipline’s philosophy and history. Candidates who support this vision and wish to contribute to the rich intellectual life on campus are encouraged to apply.
Teaching responsibilities are expected to include introductory psychology, cognitive, biological and/or developmental psychology, and special topics consistent with the candidate’s interest areas. Experience or openness to teaching statistics and/or research design is also desired. While teaching takes precedence in the department and at the college, the selected candidate will be supported also in his or her research activities.
