Applying to High School Summer Travel Courses

For acceptance into the program, the following supplementary items must accompany a completed online application form.

Applications are encouraged by February 15, but will be accepted until each program reaches capacity.

Application Requirements

Two Letters of Recommendation

You’ll submit one academic recommendation from a recent high school teacher and one personal recommendation from someone other than a relative.

Essay Question

In 250-500 words, you’ll tell us why you’d like to participate in the program.

Résumé

You’ll submit a résumé, listing in order of importance to you any extracurricular activities in which you  have participated, such as: athletics, fine arts, volunteerism, clubs, honor societies, work, etc. You’ll want to be sure to include special offices or positions held, and any awards, prizes, or honors you have received in these activities, including dates for each.

Test Scores and High School Transcript(s)

A copy of your ACT, CLT, SAT, PLAN, CLT10, or PSAT score is required. If you have not taken one of these tests, you will submit a recent graded writing assignment of between two and five pages.

Application Process

Admission into the program will generally be determined three to four weeks after all application materials are received, beginning in December. It is important you apply in advance for your passport if you are hoping to study in an abroad course. It can sometimes take ten weeks to receive a passport after the application has been completed. If you already have a passport, please check the expiration date to make sure it is valid. No visas are required to travel to Europe, however ETIAS visa waivers are required for travel to France and Italy.
