American Chemical Society
Hillsdale College
About
Chemistry affects our lives on a daily basis. The capacity to understand how is an important element of Hillsdale College’s liberal arts education. The College’s chapter of the American Chemical Society is a student-run organization dedicated to increasing the appreciation for chemistry held by students in all disciplines, as well as members of the local community. The group serves as a social and intellectual outlet for all those interested in the chemical sciences.
Membership
ACS membership is open to all undergraduates at Hillsdale College regardless of major. There is a $15 annual fee for local membership. For national ACS membership, national dues must be paid to the ACS and a $5 fee must be paid to the local chapter.
Events
The chapter aims to increase the appreciation and participation in chemistry both at the college and in the community. Activities include regular club meetings, speaker presentations, science demonstrations, and chapter social events.
