Student Athletic Advisory Committee

Hillsdale College

Mission

The mission of The Hillsdale College Student-Athlete Advisory (SAAC) is to promote communication between athletics administration and student-athletes, build a sense of community within the athletics program, solicit student-athlete responses to proposed conference and NCAA legislation, organize athlete-led community service efforts, and promote a positive student-athlete image on campus.

About

The Hillsdale College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is the representative body and voice for student-athletes on campus.
SAAC gives athletes a voice in the NCAA. Members represent their teams in fundraising and donating their time to philanthropies while supporting each other. SAAC members promote a positive image for what it means to be a Division II athlete.

Our campus SAAC consists of at least two members—an underclassmen and an upperclassmen—from each athletic team. We meet at least once a month to talk about our teams’ seasons, discuss and vote on NCAA legislation, and plan upcoming events.

Events

Every year, we do a “Week of Wishes” fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a “Pink Wave” fundraiser to support the fight against breast cancer, and last spring, we held the inaugural “Charger ESPYs,” an athletic awards show event geared towards celebrating student-athletes on campus. Twice a year, we send two SAAC representatives to the GMAC SAAC conference to share ideas and discuss potential improvements in the league and in the NCAA.
