Community Sports Outreach
Hillsdale College
Mission
Through athletics, kids gain valuable skills and experience important life lessons while exercising their bodies, training their minds, learning from others, and having a good time. Student volunteers involved with the Community Sports Outreach program become an integral part of sharing these fundamental gifts with kids.
The goal of this program is to provide good student role models in sports and in life for the children of our community through athletic mentorship. Mostly importantly however, we strive through volunteering our time to create an environment filled with fun!
About
This program works with the Hillsdale Parks and Rec department to coordinate recreational sporting opportunities for elementary and middle school kids in the community. A wide variety of sports leagues and campus are provided, including football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and more.
Within each sport, students find a number of different ways to get involved. Opportunities include coaching a team, refereeing games, sharing athletic advice, and providing sports mentorship.
