Job and Internship Search

Handshake’s search engine provides filters for location, company, position, and qualifications. The software’s algorithm also automatically match students with employment opportunities based on grade, major, GPA, and career interests. These jobs and internships are only listed for organizations that are approved by the Career Services Office and are typically companies with which we have strong relationship. This added benefit makes Handshake the best “first-stop” for a student’s job or internship search.

Customized Profiles

Similar to LinkedIn, Handshake allows students to build profiles complete with employment history, involvement, and a small bio. If set to public, employers providing employment opportunities can view a student’s profile and message them directly.

Appointments

On Handshake, students can sign up for appointments with Career Services or the Writing Center. A peer coach or staff member will assist students with resumes, cover letters, internship or job applications, and much more. In the Writing Center, trained employees will assist with paper theses, topics, or drafts.
