I love Hillsdale because of the man it has pushed me to be. Through an education rooted in the Western Tradition, the college pushes its students to learn to be virtuous in thought, word, and deed. It is a blessing to look back at the kid I was when I first arrived on campus as a freshman, knowing now how he would be challenged and encouraged to grow.

About

Ethan was born and raised in a small town in central Ohio. He found Hillsdale through friends of the family and quickly fell in love with it. Like many Hillsdale students, he changed his major multiple times before discovering history, which he came to both through his classes and through developing deep, meaningful relationships with his professors. He spent much of his time as a student playing trumpet, working for the Admissions Office as a student ambassador, competing in a variety of intramural sports, and investing in residence life at Simpson Residence. He especially enjoyed history classes on the Renaissance and Reformation with Dr. Matthew Gaetano, the ancient world with Dr. Paul Rahe, and religion classes with Dr. Cody Strecker.
