Hillsdale College Action Shooting Team Wins National Titles

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale Action Shooting Team earned several accolades at the Scholastic Action Shooting Program’s College Nationals in Talladega, Alabama, securing a first-place finish in the Centerfire Optic division, second and third place in the Centerfire Pistol division, and second and third place in the 1911 division. This is the team’s third year competing in the event.

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team earned its first-ever Division II national championship title at the Association of College Unions International and Scholastic Clay Target Program National Championship in San Antonio. Springfield Armory to Fund Scholarship for Hillsdale Action Shooting Team

HILLSDALE, Mich. — American commercial firearms manufacturer Springfield Armory recently agreed to a four-year commitment to fund remitted scholarships for members of the Hillsdale College Action Shooting Team. The company also supplies the team with all of their firearms, which includes their XD-M Elites and Prodigy firearms.

Hillsdale College Hosts Fourth Annual Trunk-or-Treat

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Student Athlete Advisory Committee hosted its fourth annual Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 29. Hillsdale College athletic teams, clubs, dorms, fraternities, and sororities set up booths and provided games for local trick-or-treaters. The event was open to the greater Hillsdale community, with about 500 children attending throughout the afternoon.

Hillsdale College Hosts 24th Annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College congratulated new inductees to the Athletic Hall of Fame at its 24th annual Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet on September 22. This year’s inductees included alumni Michael Broome (‘82 football), Kenneth Moorehead (‘71 basketball), Ralph Perriello Sr. (‘64 Football), Troy Salvior (‘90 baseball), and Silvia Siqueira (‘93 tennis).

Hillsdale College Hosts National Sporting Clays Association Tournament

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center hosted the April NSCA Classification Shoot on April 29. More than 30 shooters participated in the tournament, including Hillsdale College Shotgun Team members, Halter Center members, and veterans.

Team USA Shooting Wins Big at World Cup

HILLSDALE, Mich. — USA Shooting earned six medals for shotgun at the International Shooting Sports Federation World Cup in Doha, Qatar held from March 4-13. At the event, Kim Rhode won her second World Cup gold medal in the Women’s Skeet division.

Hillsdale College to Host 2023 National Shotgun Championship

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center at Hillsdale College will host the 2023 USA Shooting National Championship. The skeet match will be held from May 17 to 22 and the trap competition will be held from May 23 to 28.
