The Constitution of the United States enshrines in law a set of principles beautifully proclaimed in the
Declaration of Independence.
The Hillsdale College Law Enforcement Constitution Course is a course of study designed to give law enforcement officers at every level—state, local, and federal—a deeper knowledge of and appreciation for the Constitution they have sworn to support and defend. The Constitution of the United States enshrines in law a set of principles beautifully proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence. It establishes a form of government of the people, by the people, and for the people that preserves the natural human rights to life, liberty, and property. This form of government, the most successful of its kind in human history, is now altered in fundamental ways. Even the way we make our laws has been altered. But the world has not changed in one important respect since the writing of our Constitution: we still have our rights.
