Political Economy
Political economy ties together many of the core principles of a Hillsdale education. Theoretical and empirical perspectives will come into play as you explore how economic systems are shaped by historical forces and implemented—or corrupted—by political systems. This program seeks to give you the economic foundation to understand how changes can be set into motion across an entire population—culminating in a senior capstone thesis of your choosing. It’s the ideal major for anyone with wide-ranging intellectual curiosity. Political Economy is offered as a major only.
