Campus-wide Events at Hillsdale College to Honor Veterans

Veterans Day events celebrate veterans in Hillsdale community

A variety of events to honor the sacrifices and accomplishments of local veterans will be held on Hillsdale College’s campus from November 7 to 9. First, Young Americans for Freedom will host a free chili dinner for all Hillsdale students, staff, and faculty members who have served in the nation’s armed forces on Tuesday, November 7. Hillsdale Academy invites all veterans in the county to its Wednesday chapel service that honors veterans at 8:10 a.m. And on Thursday, several veterans will be inducted into the Hillsdale County Veterans Hall of Fame in a ceremony held on campus at 7 p.m. in Phillips Auditorium.

Hillsdale College’s chapter of Young Americans for Freedom will serve veterans among the university students, staff, and faculty. Remarks will be given by Dr. Peter Jennings, assistant professor of financial management and Marine veteran of Kuwait and Iraq.

Distinguished veterans will be inducted into the Hillsdale County Veterans Hall of Fame. A flag folding ceremony will also take place.
