Hillsdale Academy Senior Caroline Culjak Named a Semifinalist in National Merit Competition

Hillsdale, Mich. – Senior Caroline Culjak was named a National Merit Semifinalist for the 2017-18 school year, representing Hillsdale Academy, an independent, classical, K-12 school located on the campus of Hillsdale College.

“I am very proud of Miss Culjak, she is a determined young woman. In addition to her academics, Caroline has become a strong runner and participates in our Drama Club,” said Dr. Kenneth Calvert, headmaster. “She is also very kind and reaches out to her peers, and lives out Hillsdale Academy’s mission to raise up wise and good young people.”

In its history, 20 percent of Hillsdale Academy graduates have received honors from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Culjak and other semifinalists represent the top 0.5 percent of Michigan’s high school seniors. The competition is open to all high school seniors in the U.S. Only students demonstrating remarkable academic ability and aptitude for success in rigorous collegiate studies receive commendation.

Hillsdale Academy has graduated 25 Finalists thus far.
