Hillsdale College to Host National Women’s Volleyball G-MAC Tournament

Upcoming event marks first national conference tournament on Hillsdale’s campus since 2010

Hillsdale, Mich. – Beginning on Thursday, November 16, Hillsdale College will welcome women’s volleyball programs from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference to the Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena for the 2017 women’s volleyball G-MAC championship tournament. This week’s tournament will be the first conference tournament hosted by Hillsdale College since 2010.

“We are looking forward to bringing the conference tournament back to Hillsdale’s campus this season,” said Chris Gravel, head coach of the Chargers volleyball program. “Our team has worked hard to head into this tournament at the top of its game, and we’re excited to chase this conference title on our home court.”

The tournament quarterfinals will kick off at noon on Thursday, November 16. The Hillsdale Chargers, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, will play their first game in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against the Davis & Elkins Senators.

The full quarterfinals schedule is as follows:

  • 12 p.m. – Game 1: Malone vs. Findlay
  • 2:30 p.m. – Game 2: Kentucky Wesleyan vs. Lake Erie
  • 5 p.m. – Game 3: Cedarville vs. Walsh
  • 7:30 p.m. – Davis & Elkins vs. Hillsdale

Semifinals will take place Friday evening pitting the winners of games one and two in Game 5 at 5 p.m. and the winners of Games 3 and 4 in Game 6 at 7:30 p.m. The tournament’s championship game will be played at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, between the winners of Games 5 and 6.

Tickets for the tournament cost $25 for general admission or $15 for students and seniors. To attend a single session, general admission is $10 and seniors and students will pay $6. Parking is available at $5 per car.
