Hillsdale College Hosts First 2018-19 CCA Seminar On Campus

Center for Constructive Alternatives explores American political scandals

Hillsdale, Mich. – From Sunday, September 9 through Wednesday, September 12, Hillsdale College will host the first installment in its annual Center for Constructive Alternatives (CCA) seminar series. This CCA seminar examines the history of political scandals in America and how the public’s view of corruption has changed. Attendees will hear lectures and debates from scholars, writers and Hillsdale College faculty.

The CCA sponsors one of the nation’s largest college lecture series, gathering students and visitors four times each year to hear from experts on a wide range of topics. Since the series began in 1972, more than 1,300 speakers have participated, including Ronald Reagan, Jeane J. Kirkpatrick, Steve Forbes, Madeleine L’Engle and Stephen Ambrose. WHO:

Michael Goodwin, a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist, is a columnist for the New York Post and contributor to FOX News. He is also co-author of Economix: How and Why Our Economy Works (and Doesn’t Work) in Words and Pictures.

Fergus M. Bordewich is a journalist and author of seven non-fiction books, including The First Congress: How James Madison, George Washington, and a Group of Extraordinary Men Invented the Government.

Ronald C. White, speaker, professor and writer, has published four books, including American Ulysses: A Life of Ulysses S. Grant.

Geoff Shepard is a lawyer, lecturer and author of The Real Watergate Scandal: Collusion, Conspiracy, and the Plot That Brought Nixon Down.

John Marini, professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, has written extensively about politics and public administration in America. Among other works, he is co-editor of The Progressive Revolution in Politics and Political Science: Transforming the American Regime.

Byron York is the chief political correspondent for the Washington Examiner. He also contributes to FOX News and wrote The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy.
