Hillsdale College Hosts Lecture from New York Times Best-Selling Author Amity Shlaes

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, December 12, the Hillsdale College Washington, D.C. campus will host an evening lecture with New York Times best-selling author Amity Shlaes on her latest book, Great Society: A New History. The lecture will examine the often misunderstood impact of economic policy decisions in the 1960s, offering crucial insights for our current debate around issues like economic opportunity, poverty, climate, and health care.
The lecture is free and open to the media, but space is limited. Attendees are encouraged to register by visiting the event’s ticketing site.

Who
Amity Shlaes is the author of four New York Times bestsellers, including The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression, The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression (Graphic Edition), The Greedy Hand: How Taxes Drive Americans Crazy and What to Do About It, and Coolidge. Shlaes serves on the board of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation and teaches on Coolidge’s political life and legacy at King’s College, where she is a Presidential Scholar. She previously taught at New York University’s Stern School of Business, served on the editorial board for the Wall Street Journal, and published a syndicated column at Financial Times and Bloomberg. She currently writes for Forbes and National Review.
