Hillsdale College Hosts Religion Scholar Faydra L. Shapiro
Jewish-Christian relations expert featured in annual Gershom Lectures on Judaism and Christianity
On Tuesday, October 31, Hillsdale College will welcome Faydra L. Shapiro, executive director of the Israel Center for Jewish-Christian Relations, as the featured speaker in the Fourth Annual Gershom Lecture Series on Judaism and Christianity. Shapiro will present two lectures titled “The Next Fifty Years: What Might a (More) Mature Model of Jewish-Christian Relations Look Like?” and “Israel Matters: The Unique Challenges and Possibilities of Jewish-Christian Relations in Israel.”
Lectures are free and open to the community.

Dr. Faydra L. Shapiro is the executive director of the Israel Center for Jewish-Christian Relations. She specializes in contemporary Jewish-Christian relations, with particular focus on Christian Zionism and evangelical Christian-Jewish relations. She has published multiple works on the intersections of Christianity and Judaism, including her latest book Christian Zionism: Navigating the Jewish-Christian Border. Shapiro earned her doctorate in religious studies from McMaster University.
