Hillsdale College Hosts Spring 2019 Pulliam Fellow Andrew Klavan
Author and screenwriter joins College faculty for two-week residency, lecture series
Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College is hosting author, screenwriter, and media commentator Andrew Klavan as the College’s spring 2019 Eugene C. Pulliam Distinguished Visiting Fellow in Journalism.
“As a professional writer with experience in everything from journalism to novels to movies, Andrew presents an excellent learning opportunity for our students,” said John J. Miller, director of Hillsdale’s Herbert H. Dow II Program in American Journalism. “I’ve been a big fan of his work for a long time. I’ve even read his young-adult novels to my kids.”
As a Pulliam Fellow, Klavan joins a list of notable journalists who have lent their skills to Hillsdale
College, including Kimberley Strassel and P.J. O’Rourke, among many others. Pulliam Fellows enjoy a two-week residency on Hillsdale’s campus and teach a one-credit course in the Journalism Department. Fellows also consult with students who work on the College’s student-run newspaper, The Collegian.
Klavan is the international best-selling author of several novels, including True Crime, Don’t Say A Word, The Homelanders series for young adults, and the memoir The Great Good Thing: A Secular Jew Comes to Faith in Christ. He is a contributing editor for the Manhattan Institute’s magazine, City Journal, and has been published in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. His writing has earned him the Thumping Good Read Award, and he is a two-time winner of the Mystery Writers of America’s Edgar Award. He also wrote the screenplays for A Shock to the System, One Missed Call, and Gosnell: The Trial of American’s Biggest Serial Killer. In addition, Klavan hosts a weekly podcast for the Daily Wire and creates a satirical video series for PJTV and Blaze TV.
