Hillsdale, Mich. – On December 2, Hillsdale College and its Barney Charter School Initiative (BCSI) will host a tele-townhall to discuss a return to excellence in American K-12 education.

“Such a return is vital in a time of deep division and, most recently, massive school closures and a switch to online education,” said Kathleen O’Toole, Assistant Provost of K-12 Education. “The preservation of our liberty depends on the excellent education of our children.”

Through BCSI, the College has helped to launch and to provide ongoing support to classical K-12 charter schools nationwide. There are 24 Hillsdale-affiliated, K-12 charter schools in 11 states, with additional schools opening each year. These schools feature a classical curriculum with a rigorous American civics component. The schools also place an emphasis on the importance of character.

The tele-townhall will last for approximately an hour and fifteen minutes, and there is no cost to participate. Listeners may submit questions at this secure link: www.hillsdale.edu/townhall.
