Hillsdale College in Washington D.C. Announces New Staff Roles

Three individuals take leadership roles in academics, operations, and outreach

Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College announces several staff changes at the College’s Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C.

“The Washington D.C. campus is an extension of Hillsdale College and its mission, and we are expanding that work with these individuals,” said Matthew Spalding, associate vice president and dean of educational programs at the Kirby Center. “We are confident that their expertise and energy will further Hillsdale College’s teaching mission in the nation’s capital.”

Hillsdale College welcomes:

• Matthew Mehan, director of academic programs

• Christopher Malagisi, executive director of outreach

• Ashlea Frazier, director of operations

Matthew Mehan, who is currently the Worsham teaching fellow at the Kirby Center, will take on an additional role as director of academic programs. For the last four years, Mehan has taught for the College’s Washington- Hillsdale Internship Program. He earned his Ph.D. in literature from the University of Dallas and is the author of Mr. Mehan’s Mildly Amusing Mythical Mammals.

Christopher Malagisi joins the Kirby Center as the new executive director of outreach for Hillsdale College in Washington, D.C. Previously, he was the editor-in-chief of the Conservative Book Club, director of external relations and the Conservative Political Action Conference at the American Conservative Union, and an adjunct professor at American University.

Ashlea Frazier is the new director of operations at the Kirby Center. Previously, Frazier was director of programs for the Kirby Center, worked for The Heritage Foundation’s Center for American Studies, and volunteered at the Republican National Convention. She graduated from Liberty University with a degree in politics and public policy and was recently recognized for her work as a young conservative leader with the William F. Buckley Jr. Leadership Award.

The Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship is an extension of the teaching mission of Hillsdale College to Washington, D.C.
