Hillsdale College Launches New, Free Online Course: “American Heritage – From Colonial Settlement to the Current Day”
10-week course examines the history of America and its founding principles
Hillsdale, Mich. – Registration is open for Hillsdale College’s open for a new online course, “American Heritage—From Colonial Settlement to the Current Day.” The free, not-for-credit, 10-week course considers the history of America from the colonial era to the present, including major challenges to America’s founding principles.
“Hillsdale’s mission is inextricably tied to America’s founding documents and the principles in them,” said Larry P. Arnn, president of Hillsdale College and lecturer for two of the course’s lessons. “If we are to understand where we are going, we must correctly understand where we came from, our heritage. This course will examine how this great nation, founded on the principle that ‘all men are created equal,’ grew into the most prosperous and powerful country in the world.”
“American Heritage” is taught by Hillsdale College Professors Larry P. Arnn, Paul Rahe, Bradley Birzer, Paul Moreno, Matthew Gaetano, and Thomas Conner. The first lecture was released Feb. 27, with new courses released every Monday.
